Internal Auditing
Course Description
This practical two-hour webinar meets GFSI Internal Auditor training expectations and provides the knowledge and skills needed to design and carry out an internal auditing program that strengthens your food safety system rather than adding unnecessary paperwork. Participants will learn how to evaluate their programs with a risk-based mindset, identify issues before they lead to non-conformances or regulatory findings, and communicate results in a way that supports continuous improvement.
The session introduces key elements of internal auditing for food safety systems, including SQF requirements and relevant FDA or USDA regulatory considerations, depending on the audience. The webinar incorporates discussion and hands-on exercises that reinforce how to plan audits, conduct effective interviews, gather evidence and sharpen observation skills.
Participants will also learn how to document findings objectively, classify issues accurately and develop corrective actions based on root cause analysis and risk assessment. Emphasis is placed on clear communication so senior management can better understand system performance and allocate resources where they are needed most.
