Sierra specializes in SQF and food safety audit preparation for food manufacturers, food packaging manufacturers, and storage and distribution facilities.
Sierra started in the food industry in the bakery and pastry ingredient manufacturing space, overseeing food safety and quality systems. Sierra played a critical role in successfully implementing HACCP/Food Safety Plans, developing product quality monitoring systems, and updating and maintaining the GFSI food safety certifications in these organizations. Through participating in successful SQF and BRCGS programs, Sierra understands the importance of developing a strong and positive food safety culture within the organization. This principle continues to guide her consulting work with clients today.
Sierra worked as a food safety consultant for several years before joining HCG in 2024. She helps clients develop food safety systems for BRCGS, SQF, and HACCP certifications and compliance programs for growing manufacturers and retailers. Sierra’s consulting approach involves understanding needs across cross-functional teams to build a company-wide food safety mindset. She encourages a lifelong love of learning as she works to complete her Master of Jurisprudence degree in Global Food Law from Michigan State University’s School of Law to add to her Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science from Cornell University. Sierra is excited to continue supporting clients as they achieve their food safety goals in a respectful, responsive, and encouraging way.
